BY INSTALLING, COPYING, OR OTHERWISE USING THIS SOFTWARE, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT INSTALL OR USE THE SOFTWARE.
You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Software on any number of computers you personally own or control, subject to the feature limitations of the Free tier. No License Key is required for the Free tier.
Upon issuance of a valid License Key, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the additional features associated with your tier on the machines activated against that License Key.
Activation binds a License File to a specific machine identifier, so a License File taken from one machine will not enable paid features on another. You are not, however, tied to the machines you first chose: you may release any machine from your License at any time, from within the Software, and activate a different machine in its place. This is self-service and requires no reissuance by, or contact with, WLAN Geeks.
A License Key is issued to one named user or organization and covers a stated number of machines. Each such machine is a Seat. The Seat count is recorded in your License and is displayed in the Software; unless otherwise agreed in writing, it is three (3).
A machine occupies a Seat from the moment it is activated until it is released. Releasing a machine frees its Seat immediately for another machine. When every Seat is in use, the Software shows you the machines currently holding them so that you can release one.
Seats are for machines that You own or control and that are used by you or, where the License is issued to an organization, by that organization's personnel. Seats do not license concurrent use by unrelated parties, and a License Key must not be used outside the licensed user or organization. Additional Seats may be requested from WLAN Geeks.
Activation of a Standard or Pro License requires a connection to WLAN Geeks' licensing service. The License File the Software receives is time-limited and machine-bound: it is valid for up to ninety (90) days and the Software renews it automatically, in the background, for as long as your License remains active. Renewal requires network access.
The Software continues to work offline until the current License File expires — up to ninety (90) days from its issue — after which paid features are unavailable until the Software can renew. A failed renewal never reduces your tier while a valid License File remains in place.
If your License is suspended, cancelled, or reaches the end of its term, renewal stops. The Software already installed on your machines is not disabled, removed, or altered; the License File in place simply runs to its expiry and the Software then reverts to the Free tier, which remains available to you without a License Key.
WLAN Geeks may issue a License File that does not require periodic renewal where circumstances warrant it, such as for a permanently disconnected environment. Where one has been issued, this Section 2.4 does not apply to it.
Your License Key is confidential to you and should be treated as a credential. You must not publish, share, or redistribute it, and you are responsible for use made of your License Key by anyone to whom you disclose it. If you believe your License Key has been disclosed to someone not covered by your License, notify WLAN Geeks; a replacement key can be issued for the same License without affecting the machines already activated.
You shall NOT:
You may not use the Software to capture, intercept, or analyze network traffic that you are not authorized to access, or in any manner that violates applicable wiretap, computer-fraud, privacy, or data-protection law. You are responsible for obtaining any authorization required before capturing traffic on any network.
The Software includes optional AI-powered analysis features that transmit packet metadata and analysis context to third-party AI service providers (including OpenAI, Anthropic, and others configured by you). By using these features, you acknowledge and consent to the transmission of this data to the selected AI provider.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that any data sent through AI features complies with your organization's data handling policies, applicable regulations, and the terms of service of the selected AI provider. The Software does not transmit raw packet payloads to AI services unless you explicitly request analysis of specific packet contents.
When using local AI providers (such as Ollama or LM Studio), no data leaves your machine.
PCAPAI IS NOT A CERTIFIED AFC SYSTEM, IS NOT AN FCC-CERTIFIED DEVICE, AND IS NOT APPROVED, CERTIFIED, ACCREDITED, OR ENDORSED BY THE FCC, ANY AFC SYSTEM OPERATOR, OR ANY OTHER REGULATORY OR STANDARDS BODY.
ANY SPECTRUM AVAILABILITY, CHANNEL, POWER, OR FREQUENCY INFORMATION PRODUCED BY THE SOFTWARE — INCLUDING ANY RESULT OBTAINED THROUGH ITS AUTOMATED FREQUENCY COORDINATION (AFC) FEATURE — IS PROVIDED FOR LABORATORY, EDUCATIONAL, MODELING, AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. IT IS AN ILLUSTRATION OF WHAT A CERTIFIED AFC SYSTEM MIGHT REPORT. IT IS NOT AN AUTHORIZATION TO OPERATE ANY RADIO TRANSMITTER, IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR A QUERY TO A CERTIFIED AFC SYSTEM, AND MUST NOT BE RELIED UPON TO DETERMINE WHETHER TRANSMISSION IS PERMITTED AT ANY LOCATION, ON ANY FREQUENCY, OR AT ANY POWER LEVEL.
The AFC feature is optional and is disabled unless you use it. Results may be incomplete, out of date, cached from an earlier observation, derived from a test or simulated data source, or absent entirely. The Software may be unable to reach any AFC service, in which case it reports that it could not obtain an answer. The Software never reports spectrum as available when it has not received an explicit availability response.
You are solely responsible for regulatory compliance. You are responsible for obtaining any required authorization, for querying a certified AFC system where one is required, for the configuration and operation of your own equipment, and for compliance with all applicable spectrum, radio, telecommunications, and import/export laws in every jurisdiction in which you operate. WLAN Geeks has no obligation to determine, and makes no representation regarding, what is lawful in your jurisdiction.
WLANGEEKS DISCLAIMS ALL LIABILITY FOR HARMFUL INTERFERENCE, REGULATORY ENFORCEMENT ACTION, FINES, PENALTIES, LICENSE REVOCATION, EQUIPMENT SEIZURE, SERVICE DISRUPTION, OR ANY OTHER CONSEQUENCE ARISING FROM YOUR OPERATION OF RADIO EQUIPMENT, WHETHER OR NOT INFORMED BY OUTPUT OF THE SOFTWARE.
Third-party AFC or spectrum services reached through the Software are operated by others. WLAN Geeks does not control them, does not warrant their accuracy, currency, or availability, and is not responsible for their acts or omissions. Availability of the AFC feature may change or end at any time without notice.
Anonymous usage analytics are enabled by default during the beta. You can turn them off at any time in Settings, and doing so takes effect immediately.
What is collected:
What is never collected, whether analytics are enabled or not: packet contents, packet metadata, capture-derived values, file paths, filenames, display filters, IP addresses, MAC addresses, hostnames, SSIDs, BSSIDs, AI prompts, AI responses, API keys, licence keys, credentials, or authentication tokens.
Your network address is visible to our servers when your machine sends analytics, as it is with any network request. It is used only to rate-limit abuse, is stored only as a salted hash, and is never stored alongside the analytics data.
Licensing is separate from analytics. Requesting, activating, and renewing a Standard or Pro License transmits what is needed to identify your License and the machine holding a Seat: your email address, the name and company you supplied when requesting the License, your machine identifier, a device label, your operating system, and the application version. The device label defaults to your computer's hostname and can be edited in the Software before it is first sent. This is license administration rather than analytics — it is unaffected by the analytics setting and it is necessary to hold a Seat. The Free tier requires none of it.
See the Privacy Policy for full details.
The Software may write crash log files to your local filesystem in the event of an unexpected error. These files are stored locally and are never transmitted automatically. Crash logs are redacted to remove API keys, authentication tokens, and hardware identifiers before being written to disk.
The Software incorporates open-source software components, each governed by its own license. A list of these components and their licenses is provided in the THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md file included with the Software. Nothing in this EULA restricts your rights under those open-source licenses.
The Software's graphical interface is built with the Slint framework, used under the Slint Royalty-free 2.0 License.
The Software is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. WLAN Geeks retains all right, title, and interest in the Software, excluding the open-source components referenced in Section 7.
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. WLANGEEKS DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
THE SOFTWARE IS A NETWORK ANALYSIS AND PLANNING TOOL. IT IS NOT INTENDED FOR USE IN SAFETY-CRITICAL SYSTEMS, MEDICAL DEVICES, EMERGENCY OR PUBLIC-SAFETY COMMUNICATIONS, INDUSTRIAL CONTROL, AVIATION, MARITIME, AUTOMOTIVE, OR ANY APPLICATION WHERE FAILURE COULD LEAD TO INJURY, DEATH, SIGNIFICANT PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR REGULATORY VIOLATION. ITS OUTPUT — INCLUDING MEASUREMENTS, GRADES, SCORES, HEALTH ASSESSMENTS, AI-GENERATED ANALYSIS, PREDICTED COVERAGE, AND SPECTRUM INFORMATION — IS ADVISORY, IS DERIVED FROM MODELS AND FROM DATA THE SOFTWARE OBSERVED OR WAS GIVEN, AND MUST BE INDEPENDENTLY VERIFIED BEFORE BEING RELIED UPON FOR ANY DECISION.
IN NO EVENT SHALL WLANGEEKS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, REGARDLESS OF THE CAUSE OF ACTION OR THEORY OF LIABILITY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
WLANGEEKS' TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE LICENSE KEY IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
THE FOREGOING LIMITATIONS APPLY TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW AND APPLY EVEN IF ANY LIMITED REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR THE LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU; IN SUCH JURISDICTIONS LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE GREATEST EXTENT PERMITTED.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless WLAN Geeks and its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, fine, penalty, cost, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Software; (b) your operation or configuration of any network or radio equipment; (c) your violation of this Agreement or of any applicable law or regulation, including spectrum and radio regulations; (d) your capture, storage, transmission, or analysis of network traffic, including any claim that such activity violated the rights of a third party or any wiretap, privacy, or data-protection law; or (e) data you provide to the Software or to any third-party service through it.
This license is effective until terminated. WLAN Geeks may terminate this license if you fail to comply with any term of this Agreement. Upon termination, you must destroy all copies of the Software in your possession.
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
This EULA constitutes the entire agreement between you and WLAN Geeks regarding the Software and supersedes all prior agreements, written or oral.
